The April 26 deadline for SIM Registration is inching closer and closer. As such, Smart has intensified its call for customers to register their SIMs to help prevent text scams and mobile phone-aided criminal activities, and to avoid the hassle brought by a deactivated SIM.

Through its ‘Mag-SIM Reg para hindi SIM Dead’ campaign, Smart reminds customers to register their SIM and warns them about the consequences of failing to register one’s SIM, which then results in permanent SIM deactivation or the so-called ‘SIM dead’ situation. Watch Smart’s public announcement here.

Avoid SIM-Dead Hassles

SIM dead or a deactivated SIM means no outgoing and incoming calls, no sending and receiving messages, no internet access, and forfeited load balances.

You also won’t be able to receive one-time passwords (OTPs) for your banking apps or mobile wallets, and therefore, won’t be able to access or use your savings and wallet credits.

SIM dead also means you won’t be able to access app linked to your mobile number like social media apps, messaging apps, and delivery apps, or recover a forgotten password linked to your mobile number.

Register your Smart and TNT SIMs now

Smart, along with its value mobile brand TNT continues to lead the country’s SIM Registration efforts with 28.5 million registered subscribers as of April 1.

To make the process more convenient and accessible to as many Filipinos as possible, Smart has spent the past few months rolling out assisted SIM Registration booths at malls nationwide, far-flung municipalities and key remote areas in coordination with the NTC, DICT, DILG, and LGUs, the inter-agency committee in remote areas, and other telecommunications entities.

For Smart Prepaid and TNT customers, simply visit this website or login to the GigaLife App to register your SIM. Smart Postpaid customers, on the other hand, simply need to confirm their personal information and IDs they’ve previously submitted for their postpaid plan application by texting YES to 5858, and waiting for the confirmation message from Smart.

Smart Bro subscribers can proceed with SIM Registration by accessing their one-time password following the steps here.
