iOS 16.4 introduces voice isolation to help make your phone calls clearer by blocking out ambient noise. It also finds duplicate photos and videos in a shared iCloud Photo Library.

Here are other features you can find in the iOS update:

  • VoiceOver support for maps in the Weather app
  • Accessibility setting to automatically dim video when flashes of light or strobe effects are detected
  • The keyboard support for indigenous languages like Chickasaw and Choctaw as well as support transliteration for Gujarati, Punjabi, and Urdu keyboards.
  • Fixes an issue where Ask to Buy requests from children may fail to appear on the parent’s device
  • Accessibility setting to automatically dim video when flashes of light or strobe effects are detected
  • Addresses issues where Matter-compatible thermostats could become unresponsive when paired to Apple Home
  • Crash Detection optimizations on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models
  • Security fixes for Safari 16.4

iPad OS 16.4, on the other hand, has improvements for the Apple Pencil 2 for M2-powered iPad Pro and iPad Air. The hover function of the Pencil 2 will now also recognize the angle it is held in addition to the position of the stylus. This is so apps like Procreate can offer a more accurate brush preview.

The company has also introduced security updates for both OS.
