Tipster Kuba Wojciechowski has been revealing information regarding the latest Qualcomm chip which is the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4.
Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 Leaked Information
Let’s start with the rumors surrounding this chipset. The Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 could boost all its 12 CPU cores to at least 3 GHz, according to rumors. This chip is built on TSMC N4 nodes.
As a recap, Wojciechowski reported that the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 would offer the following specifications:
- 8 performances cores – 3.4 GHz peak clock speed
- 4 efficiency cores – 2.5 GHz peak clock speed
- Adreno 740 GPU
- Hexagon Tensor NPU (45 TOPS)
- 36 MB L2 cache
- 8 MB L3 cache
- 12 MB system-level cache
- 4 MB GPU cache
The tipster reported that with the creation of the engineering sample, the developer has tested and said that all CPU cores in this new chipset can run up to 3GHz with a 400 MHz reduction for its performance cores but a 500 MHz overclock on its efficiency cores.
On the other hand, the Developer confirmed that they built the 8cx Gen 4 SoC to support up to 64 GB of LPDDR5X-4200 RAM, NVMe or UFS 4.0 storage, and discrete GPUs utilizing PCIe 4.0.
However, the developer is still deciding which TSMC N4 node they will use to underpin the new chipset these include the N4, N4P, and N4X nodes, the latter being the best and most capable of the three.Â
It is expected that the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 chip will arrive in 2024.
