Xiaomi and other big Chinese brands announced early this month that they were going to postpone their product launches in a show of respect for the late Jiang Zemin (former General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party). Xiaomi, in particular, was set to introduce the Xioami 13 series with its new Leica camera system.
Xiaomi 13 pre-orders continue
Even then, the company did not stop receiving pre-orders for its latest flagship device and reports say that consumers even paid CNY 999 (around PHP 8,000) as a deposit even if the phones are not yet officially launched.
As a refresher, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is said to be the direct follow-up to the Xiaomi 12S Ultra that features the same 50MP camera with a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor while the vanilla model is offered as an affordable flagship with thin bezels and a flat OLED panel.
Both the vanilla and Pro variant will be slightly bigger than their predecessors, especially the latter because of its ceramic back cover.
As of writing this, the company has yet to announce a new date of launch for its latest flagship series though.
