Twitter recently announced that it is relaunching Twitter Blue for USD 8 per month or USD 11 per month on iOS to get some new features including the new blue checkmark.

This comes after quite a chaotic start to Elon Musk’s take over of the company which included a purge of Twitter employees and giving Twitter Blue subscribers the blue checkmark. The blue checkmark was previously a means to verify if the account was legitimately the public figure, celebrity, or celebrity.

With users being able to purchase the blue checkmark, it increased poser accounts which, of course created even more chaos on the social media platform.

New Twitter Blue – Blue Checkmark Eligibility

Along with the relaunching of the subscription-based service, Twitter also announced eligibility to get the blue checkmark and subscription. This, we assume, is to avoid the chaos of its first iteration.

Among the requirements include:

  • Active use in the past 30 days to subscribe to Twitter Blue
  • Account must be older than 90 days upon subscription
  • Account must have a confirmed phone number

Additionally, the company clarified that the checkmark may mean two different things, either an active subscription to the new Twitter Blue or the account was previously verified under the legacy verification criteria.

If you do decide to subscribe and you change your profile photo, display name, or username, you will temporarily lose the checkmark until the account is validated.

Some of the benefits of subscribing for the service include being able to tweet with up to 4,000 characters, see half as many ads, editing tweets, and longer videos, to name a few.
