Sony PlayStation VR 2 (PS VR 2) headset is currently unable to play original PS VR available games. This was reported to be around 500 games in total.
PlayStation VR 2 Compatibility
Hideaki Nishino confirmed in the last Official PlayStation podcast that the PS VR compatible games would not be playable on the new PS VR 2 because it was meant to be that way and in doing so, provide players with new experiences.
Additionally, the PS VR 2’s development approach is very different, especially with the addition of new features like adaptive triggers, inside-out tracking, and eye tracking.
However, Mr. Nishino’s statement refers only to the compatibility of non-adapted games because developers will surely bring their titles to the PS VR 2.
Sony said that PS VR 2 will arrive in early 2023 and will have over 20 launch titles.
