Sony Revealed the DualSense Edge Controller with Back Buttons

Sony unveiled its DualSense Edge controller for the PlayStation (PS) 5 it is also the most customizable PS controller to date.

DualSense Edge

The DualSense Edge features the following:

  • 2x button on the back
  • 2x function buttons on the bottom
  • Updated joysticks and triggers
  • Reinforced USB design

Furthermore, the DualSense Edge added more functionality to the back (LB and RB) buttons allowing remapping of the controls. These triggers can also be swapped between the Lever and half-dome options. 

The new joysticks can also feature interchangeable caps which include a high dome and a low dome option and also the entire joystick module is replaceable.

For more customizations. the stick sensitivity, as well as dead zones, can be adjusted. Different profiles can be created that contains your personal presets and easily swap between them via the two function buttons.

Also, the triggers’ travel can be adjusted and dead zones using the switches on the back of the gadget. Sony also improved the USB-C connector by adding a locking mechanism that attaches itself to the connector and won’t easily pop off.

As for the aesthetics, the DualSense Edge sports a black touchpad with PS icons and a glossy black finish around the sticks. The buttons on the front also have a black background as well as the surrounding area of the buttons at the back.

The Edge version of the Dualsense still has the features of the normal DualSense controller including haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, a built-in microphone, and motion controls among others.

The DualSense Edge will come with the following accessories:

  • A set of stick caps
  • Back button sets
  • Modified USB-C cable (with the locking mechanism and braiding)
  • Carrying case ( can carry the accessories and charge the controller)

However, Sony has not yet released any information regarding the price or a launch date for the DualSense Edge but rest assured the company will release more details in the upcoming months.
