Huawei Mate 50 Reported to Be Powered by Snapdragon 888 4G

There have been leaks going around about the Huawei Mate 50 series including its alleged launch on September 7. Now, rumors have surfaced claiming that the vanilla variant of the new Mate series will continue to be powered by the Snapdragon 888 4G chipset. This is the same chipset found in the Huawei P50 series namely the P50, P50 Pro, and P50 Pocket.

There were reports claiming that the Mate 50 series will have the Kirin 9000S chipset but it may be reserved for the Mate 50 Pro and maybe even the Mate 50 RS.

Meanwhile, Weibo user TechPreacher revealed that on the platform the vanilla Mate 50 will have a 6.38-inch FHD+ OLED panel by BOE with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also said to have triple 50MP rear cameras and is listed to have 8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage.

Huawei is also expected to introduce its own photo division called XMage during the event. Despite the number of rumors and reports on the new Mate series, there’s nothing official yet from Huawei.
