The City of San Juan recently announced its partnership with Starpay Corporation for the digitization of its Business Permit and Licensing Office (BLPO).
Through the partnership, San Juaneños can apply for or renew their Business Permits digitally with payments processed through Starpay.

Since 2019, it has been the thrust of Mayor Zamora’s administration to digitalize San Juan as part of efforts to help fight against corruption.
A business permit can be applied for or renewed through San Juan’s e-services portal. Applicants can submit their documentary requirements on the platform and wait for the assessment from the BPLO office via email.
Once confirmed for payment, the applicant will receive a Starrpay QR code that he or she can scan with the Starpay application or a compatible QRPH-compliant application to settle the payment. Through the use of the QRPH standard, even non-Starpay users can settle their payments by scanning the presented Starpay QR code.
Starpay continues to see growth on its platform with more Filipinos making the shift to using digital financial technologies to take part in the ‘New Economy’. With Starpay, users can pay bills online, buy e-load, send money via InstaPay, and purchase gaming pins.
