Sony has unveiled its Sony IMX800 sensor alongside the HONOR 70 series flagship phones’ recent launch in China.

The 1/1.49-inch optic format, for its size, is not as big as some reports say but is a bit bigger than other sensors on other flagship phones that are currently on the market. The sensor has a pixel size of 1.0µm which can go up to 2µm with binning enabled.
Lastly, the Sony IMX800 has a resolution of 54MP or 8,768 x 6,144px that has support for 4-to-1 pixel binning. However, most of the phones that will use this sensor may default to only using 13.5MP or 12MP resolution.
