The news of Elon Musk’s Twitter acquisition and the issues that came with it has been circling the net for a few months now.
Currently, Musk is threatening to not push through with it due to important data that is allegedly being withheld by Twitter. His lawyer, Mike Ringler mentions, “This is a clear material breach of Twitter’s obligations under the merger agreement and Mr. Musk reserves all rights resulting therefrom, including his right not to consummate the transaction and his right to terminate the merger agreement.”
The data includes information regarding fake accounts/bot accounts that caused the deal to be placed on hold while Elon’s camp is still investigating this major issue. Without this data, an accurate estimation of the percentage of bots is not possible.
Elon Musk’s lawyer in a letter stated that “Mr, Musk believes Twitter is transparently refusing to comply with its obligations under the merger agreement.” You can view the full SEC article here.
