Following the announcement of the partnership between Xiaomi and Leica yesterday, Android Authority approached Huawei regarding its partnership with Leica. A representative from Huawei responded by saying, “We can confirm that the cooperation between our two companies ended on 31 March.”
With this confirmation, the Huawei P50 and P50 Pro are officially the last devices from the company to pack Leica cameras. This also means that the Mate 50, if it does arrive, will pack an unbranded camera just like the P50 Pocket.
Huawei and Leica first partnered back in 2016 for the P9 and Mate 9 series and changed the landscape of mobile photography.
Xiaomi previously mentioned that the first device with Leica cameras will arrive in July and it is expected to be the Xiaomi 12 Ultra.
