OnePlus has just released the OnePlus 10 Pro last January for the Chinese market. Ahead of any idea of its global debut, it went through the YouTuber’s JerryRigEverything durability test. Spoiler, things didn’t work out too well.

The first test was the scratch test and unsurprisingly, it showed light grooves on level 6 of the Mohs hardness scale and deeper ones on level 7. The body was proven to be made of metal, while the back is made of textured glass.

Next up is the burn test wherein an open flame is held to the display. The 10-bit panel held on for about 40 seconds before it showed damage on the display itself.

For the last test, the OnePlus 10 Pro went through the dreaded bend test. The part of the phone that cracked was the Volcanic Black finish at the back. It cracked almost immediately like a thin layer of glass.

Then after flipping it to the other side and bending it in the opposite direction the phone catastrophically failed. It snapped in half with almost no effort and only left the flash working after doing so.

It is still early in the year but this is already the second phone that failed the durability test this year. Let us hope that this is not a bad omen for other phones that will be released soon.
