It looks like Samsung is working on a new object tracker called the Galaxy Smart Tag after it was spotted certified by Indonesian authorities with the model number EI-T5300. It is speculated by reports that the smart object tracker will be similar to the Tile Bluetooth app.
The Galaxy Smart Tag isn’t the first object tracker from Samsung though. The company launched the SmartThings LTE-enabled tracker two years ago. It is believed that the new Smart Tag will run alongside SmartThings but it is uncertain how. Furthermore, it is unknown how the Smart Tag will work as of writing. It could stick to just Bluetooth like other similar products in the market or could even include UWB, LTE, and/or GPS.
The company is expected to reveal the Smart Tag alongside the Galaxy S21 family which is said to be announced in mid-January 2021.
