Samsung Temporarily Closes its Factory in India Amid COVID-19 Threat

Due to the threat of the COVID-19 outbreak, Samsung was forced to temporarily close its factory in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Opened in the summer of 2018, it’s the company’s biggest smartphone factory which can produce up to 120 million units per year. It will remain closed until March 25, following the government’s request.

Mr. Partha Ghosh, Head of Corporate Communications at Samsung India has confirmed that Samsung has decided to suspend manufacturing operations, and advised its employees for sales, marketing, and R&D offices across India to work from home.
