It’s a sad time for everyone that was looking forward to seeing the latest innovations in the mobile realm. The GSM Association (GSMA), the organizers, decided to cancel Mobile World Congress 2020 (MWC 2020) because of the possible spread of the Novel Coronavirus.

Prior to the announcement, companies have been calling off their events in Barcelona, Spain over the past weeks, it really isn’t too much of a surprise at this point.

Other pre-MWC events that were scheduled and weren’t canceled could happen still since technically they weren’t meant to be held on the premises exactly. We’ll just have to wait and see what the companies do decide to do. These companies are OPPO, Xiaomi, Huawei, and Motorola.

The GSMA said in its statement that it will still continue to work with the Host City Parties for MWC 2021.
