With a goal of giving a bigger and better Christmas for all, LG held an event yesterday, in Makati, wherein the company revealed its various initiatives lined up for the holiday season.
The first is a partnership with Netflix for Klaus, the streaming service’s headliner for the holiday. The trailer for the destined Christmas classic, along with its behind the scenes footage, were also screened using LG’s award-winning OLED TVs, the purchase of which comes with a gift of 6-months of Netflix.
Klaus is an entirely 2D animated movie, a Netflix first. Legendary actor J.K. Simmons voices Klaus, a reclusive carpenter whom Jesper discovers living alone in a cabin, making his own handmade toys. LG also invited the Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc. (ACPI) to share their thoughts on the use of 2D animation in Klaus, and how LG OLED TV’s are the best platform to view it. They also discussed the state of the local animation industry as a whole.
Recognizing the ACPI’s role in the local industry, LG also donated a TV to the organization. Rene Misa, the Executive Director of the ACPI, graciously accepted the item.
Another gift that LG has for the community during the holidays is the #ShareTheGoodLifewithLG campaign. As its way of giving back to the community, the company has allocated a portion of each sale of an LG product to go towards the children of Shelter of Hope.
Moreover, LG has also committed to donate an entertainment system and home appliances worth PhP1M to the Shelter of Hope, which is currently building a home for their resident children who are cancer patients, giving them a much needed cheer for the holidays.
During the event, LG, Netflix, and members of the media also brought gifts and toys to give to the children of Shelter of Hope. Just like what Klaus says, “A true selfless act, always sparks another.”
