Android Q-based EMUI 10 announced!

Along with its own operating system, Huawei also announced EMUI 10. The new software will be based on Android Q and will offer a redesigned interface, system-wide dark mode, improved performance, and several new features.

Design-wise, EMUI 10 will come with more rounded icons and new animations. The new dark mode will also be able to extend to third party apps, a feature which will cater to those that prefer darker menus. There are more clock and calendar styles as well as additional Always on Display options.

As far as performance goes, EMUI will be more reponsive due to its improved EROFS file system and GPU Turbo 3.0.

A feature called Multi-screen collaboration was also previewed. It is a new way of linking phones and PCs. It wirelessly connects the two and mirrors the phone directly on the computer screen. From there, you can access all your phone’s files and seamless respond to messages or transfer files.

While a HiCar feature will let you pair your phone to work on your car’s infotainment system and control musi, navigation, and other functions like the aircon in supported vehicles.

The first device to launch the EMUI 10 will be the upcoming Mate 30 while P30 owners can expect to get the firmware starting September 8.
