Vivo’s next contenders in the mid-range category have finally made its debut in the local market. The Vivo V15 and V15 Pro are devices that aim to bring the company’s various innovations to more consumers.
Both the Vivo V15 and V15 Pro benefit from the new Spectrum Ripple Design, which reacts uniquely depending on where the light is coming from. Both also sport Super AMOLED Ultra FullView Displays – 6.53 inches for the V15 and 6.39 inches for the V15 Pro. Under the hood of the former is Helio P70 backed by 6GB of RAM, while the latter houses a Snapdragon 675 AIE octa-core processor backed by 8GB of RAM. Both have 128GB of storage.
Both phones are equipped with three rear shooters- 12MP (Main) + 8MP (Ultrawide) + 5MP (Depth) for the V15. The V15 Pro on the other hand, replaces the 12MP sensor with a 48MP quad pixel sensor. Vivo has also added AI Super Night Mode for capturing hand-held long exposure shots, and AI Body Shaping, which is basically “beautify” mode in other parts of the body such as legs and and waist.
The elevating front camera of the NEX has found its way to a mid-range phone, and only takes .46s to elevate or retract. Vivo claims the mechanism can withstand 300,000 movements, and 15kg of force. It’s designed to only activate when unlocking the device, or when switching to the front camera when using the default app.
Vivo has also managed to make improvements to the in-display fingerprint sensor, which can now unlock the device in .37s, and is noticeably more accurate compared to the one in the V11. The V15 retains a physical fingerprint sensor mounted at the rear.
Both devices come with Funtouch OS 9, and introduces Game Mode 5 with ESports mode that gives you a ton of other settings for optimizing performance, blocking notifications during gameplay, and more. It also brings Dual-Turbo to the table, which they claim reduces frame drops by up to 300%.
The Vivo V15 and V15 Pro pack 4,000mAh and 3,700mAh batteries respectively, and are capable of Dual Engine Fast Charging.
