Mobile Legends, Hearthstone, and Clash Royale fanatics rejoice! Smart kicks off the Smart Mobile Gaming League (MGL) starting June 17-18, in Mineski InfintyTalamban, Cebu.
The Smart MGL is the country’s largest esports league dedicated to mobile games. Like their desktop and console counterparts, mobile games are attracting a large following, and slowly but surely, our talented mobile gamers are getting international recognition. What better way to put Pinoy talent onto a bigger stage than to kickstart a mobile gaming tournament with a prize pool totaling P350,000?
Smart is looking for the best players to see who will reign supreme in Mobile Legends, Hearthstone, and Clash Royal. The Smart MGL will have four legs in four different regions in the country: Cebu, Pampanga, Bacolod, and Manila. Each region will produce their own champions, and these champs will battle it out in the grand finals to see who is the best individual or team in each of the games included in the League.
Smart has always supported esports and the gaming community. Aside from the recently concluded Manila Masters, Smart also mounted the first Clash of Clans tournament in the Philippines in 2015. This time, the telecommunications giant offers its subscribers a chance to play the hottest mobile games like never before – via a nationwide tournament, and with a significant prize pool of at least Php 350,000.00.This is also the first time that a Mobile Game Tournament in the Philippines has multiple games – most tournaments are focused on only one game at a time.
The Smart MGL kicks of this June 17-18, 2017 in Cebu, the battleground of choice being Mineski Infinity Cebu, Rosdale Building in Talamban. The Pampanga leg will be held on June 24-25, 2017 in Mineski Infinity Pampanga – GLOANS, Sto. Rosario St. corner Lakandula St., Angeles City, Pampanga.
On July 1-2, the League will be in Mineski Infinity located at the Pacita Building, Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City. The last leg will happen in Mineski Infinity Taft on July 8-9. The winners from the Cebu, Pampanga, and Bacolod legs will face the winner of the Manila leg to see who are the ultimate masters of mobile games. Winners from the provincial legs will have their airfare and accommodations paid for courtesy of Smart.
Registration opens at 9:00 AM, and only the first 32 players for Hearthstone and also Clash Royale as well as the first 16 teams for Mobile Legends to register on-site will be able to join the tournaments. Exclusive raffle prizes will be up for grabs for all attendees!
Participants must register with a SMART number (SMART sims and pre-paid load will be available for purchase at the venue). Wifi will be available for tournament participants.
The finals for each leg will be streamed via GG Network TV starting June 18, 2017.
