Blackberry announced today the all new BlackBerry Z10 in the Philippines. Announced last January 2013, the Z10 is the first pure-touch smartphone of BlackBerry. It’s is also the first phone of BlackBerry that’s re-designed and re-engineered from the ground up.
Coincidentally, BlackBerry is also celebrating their 10th year in the Philippines. “2013 is the tenth year since BlackBerry smartphones were first officially introduced here. And today, we are excited to announce that the Blackberry Z10 smartphone is coming to the Philippines. Blackberry 10 offers a faster and smarter experience that continuously adapts to you. Every feature, every gesture, and every detail is designed to keep you moving,” Cameron Vernest, Country Director for the Philippines said during the launch at the White Space, Chino Roces Ave., Makati City.
The all new BlackBerry 10 has several new features, which – according to Vernest – are set to revolutionize mobile computing. These new features include Hub, Flow, adaptable keyboard, all new BBM with video, BlackBerry Balance, TimeShift and the incredibly fast browser. These new features were demoed by Kristian Salvo, BlackBerry Business Manager for Philippines, during the event and were applauded for being innovative.
The Z10 will be available from authorized resellers in the Philippines starting March 19 for only PhP29,990. Filipinos have the option of getting either the Black or White variants of the smartphone. Globe Telecom and Smart Communications will also carry the said smartphone and will be offered on postpaid BlackBerry plan. There was no announcement if it will also be offered on prepaid plan. Vernest also confirmed during the event that the Z10 that will be offered in the Philippines is the LTE variant and compatible to the network LTE bands in the Philippines.
