The Galaxy S25 Edge weighs 163 grams and features a titanium frame that provides good durability despite its slim design. It incorporates Corning’s new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for the display, which Samsung claims delivers both enhanced resilience and visual vibrancy. The smartphone’s dimensions measure 158.2 x 75.6 x 5.8 mm, making it one of the thinnest flagship devices on the market.

To achieve this unprecedented thinness, Samsung has made notable compromises in battery capacity. The S25 Edge houses a 3,900mAh battery, smaller than what is typically found in premium smartphones today. The device supports 25W wired charging, with Samsung advertising that it can reach 55% charge in “around 30 minutes” when using a Samsung adapter, which is sold separately. Wireless charging functionality is also included.

The Galaxy S25 Edge features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with QHD+ resolution and adaptive refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz. It packs a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, accompanied by 12GB of RAM and storage options of either 256GB or 512GB.

Despite its thin profile, Samsung has managed to implement a reconfigured vapor chamber that is thinner but broader for improved heat dissipation during sustained use. The company highlights the integration of ProScaler technology, which reportedly delivers a 40% improvement in display image scaling quality.

Galaxy AI Integration

Following Samsung’s recent focus on artificial intelligence, the S25 Edge incorporates the company’s Galaxy AI system at “nearly every touchpoint.” The device includes AI agents that work across multiple applications and features like Brief and Now Bar, which now support third-party app integrations.

Through Samsung’s partnership with Google, the S25 Edge brings Gemini’s latest advancements to users, including Gemini Live’s new camera and screen sharing capabilities. Samsung emphasizes that Galaxy AI features are designed with privacy as a priority, with on-device AI processing ensuring data security through Samsung Knox Vault.

The Galaxy S25 Edge runs on Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7 interface. The device carries an IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. Creative tools previously seen in the Galaxy S25 series, such as Audio Eraser and Drawing Assist, are also included in the S25 Edge.

Availability

The Galaxy S25 Edge comes in three colors: Titanium Silver, Titanium Jetblack, and Titanium Icyblue. Pricing details and specific release dates have not yet been disclosed. More importantly, we’ve yet to know whether it’s coming to the Philippines.

Moreover, this unveiling also appears to be strategically positioned as Samsung’s preemptive response to Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 Air.
