Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Tipped to Feature an Unusual Configuration

Qualcomm has just introduced the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1(S8+G1) last month and now it seems that rumors regarding the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (S8G2) are circling the net.

According to a report from Digital Chat Station, the new SoC features an unusual 1+2+2+3 CPU configuration.

The S8G2 cores are said to include 1x Cortex-X3, 2x Cortext-A720, 2x A710, and 3x A510 with an Adreno 740 GPU. The Cortex-X3 and A720 promise up to 30% improvement in peak CPU performance compared to their predecessors.

In addition, according to Digital Chat Station, the S8G2 will be made using TSMC’s N4 Node which is the same 4nm process used for the S8+G1 chipset.

Further details about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip may be shared by the manufacturer typically by the end of the year in an  expected event in Hawaii
