Google has just introduced the Pixel 6a, the most affordable device in the Pixel 6 series at the Google I/O 2022 event. It was introduced alongside the Pixel Buds Pro. The company also showed a sneak peek into its future devices namely the Pixel 7 series, Pixel Watch, and Pixel Tablet.

The budget-friendly Pixel 6 device is built around a 6.1-inch OLED display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate and 2400×1080 resolution.

The design on the back is very similar to its previously launched siblings. Albeit, it now has a plastic build on the back. Up front, the 6a uses Gorilla Glass 3 for protection instead of Gorilla Glass Victus. The more affordable device also features IP67 compared to the IP68 on the vanilla and Pro variants.

The 6a is packed with a 12.2MP f/1.7 dual-pixel main sensor with OIS joined by the same 12MP ultra-wide sensor on its siblings. As with the ultra-wide sensor, the new Pixel 6 device also shares the 8MP front camera.

Under the hood, the Pixel 6a is powered by the same Google Tensor chipset that was debuted by the Pixel 6 series with the Titan M2 security chip. The SoC is coupled with 6GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

It is equipped with a 4410mAh battery with support for 18W wired fast charging but no wireless charging.

Google Pixel 6a - colors

The Pixel 6a is available in Charcoal, Chalk, and Sage color options. It is priced at USD 449 and will go on sale online starting July 21 and in physical stores on July 28.

If you’re interested to get the 6a, it will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
