A post from Angkas, a popular ride-hailing app, went viral as the video post spoofs the typical “keyboard ASMR sound test” but with Angkas’ own twists. The social media post quickly garnered the attention of several mechanical keyboard enthusiasts with most of them inviting Angkas to join several keyboard groups such as Keyboard Addicts PH and Mechanical Keyboard Warriors PH. A day later, Angkas joined the KAPH group with a post looking for a Keycap Artisan.

In the video post, a person(presumably the social media manager) with what seems to be a GMMK Pro White Ice Mechanical Keyboard conducts a switch typing test starting off with a mouse click as an audio click followed by the actual typing. However, the supposed keyboard typing sound is replaced with the audio from Angkas Tara Na’s Official Video. The promocode “THOCC” is a witty term used for the switch sound within the mechanical keyboard community.

For those curious, the rest of the peripherals found in the video are the Razer Leviathan Gaming Soundbar, Razer Seiren Mini Mercury Microphone, and Logitech G Pro X Superlight Gaming Mouse. The keycaps installed on the GMMK Pro are Akko midnight ASA keycaps.

Several mechanical keyboard enthusiasts in the comments section quickly invited the brand to join various mechanical keyboard groups like Keyboard Addicts PH and Mechanical Keyboard. Some were even asking for Angkas Keycaps with other enthusiasts tagging keycap artisan makers.

In typical Angkas fashion, the brand’s first group post has some witty remarks relating to both keycaps and the brand itself. The mechanical keyboard community welcomed Angkas with ‘haha’ reacts, comments, and Keycap Artisan recommendations. Among those recommended in the comment section are Golden Camellia, ResinMama, Entity, Rainbow Hermit’s Hobby Corner, Influx 3D and Keykiam Artisan Keycaps PH.

The custom Angkas Artisan keycap by Influx 3D is made using a 3D printer. The logo is then hand-painted with a top seal coat using resin. Keycaps made by Influx 3D ranges from Php 80 to 120 with custom keycap request priced at Php 150-300.

There is no clear timeline yet if Angkas will definitely release a custom keycap. But based on its progress in FB groups thanks to the welcoming community, it’s highly likely to happen. Show your support by commenting and requesting on the Angkas Facebook page.
