HONOR has just expanded the Magic4 series in China with the introduction of the HONOR Magic4 Ultimate.
The Ultimate Edition shares much of its specs with the Pro version including the 6.81-inch LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it also carries over the 4600mAh battery and supports 100W wired fast charging however its wireless charging is half at 50W charging. Under the hood, it shares the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset coupled with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.
One of the major upgrades on the Magic4 Ultimate is in the optics department. It now has a larger 1/1.12-inch sensor with the same 50MP resolution. This is said to be so good, it can match cameras with 1-inch sensors and f/1.8 lenses. The camera scored 146 in the DxOMark test earning it the top spot, dethroning the Huawei P50 Pro.
Additionally, the ultra-wide also gets a larger and sharper 1/2-inch 64MP lens and with a slightly wider 126-degree from the 1/2.5-inch 50MP at 122-degrees on the Pro. It also has an 8×8 dToF sensor and an 8-channel sensor that detects the color temperature of ambient light.
The rear camera is rounded out with the same 64MP telephoto camera found on the Pro variant. Meanwhile, on the front, it is equipped with a 12MP camera along with a 3D depth sensor.
In addition to the beefed-up camera setup, the device has a custom image processor. It offers 28.8 TOPS peak performance with a power efficiency of 13.4 TOPS per Watt. It processes images in 20-bits per channel and offers 4K night mode with live preview.
The processor supports the Magic-Log2 video format that offers a 15% higher dynamic range. Additionally, it supports 3D LUTS and 4K video at 60fps in a 10-bit Log format.
The HONOR Magic4 Ultimate comes in Black and White color options. It is priced at CNY 7,999 and will be available in China later this year.
Meanwhile, the Chinese prices for the Magic4 and Magic4 Pro were announced as well with the former launching on March 25 and the latter on April 2.
