Samsung Commits 4 OS updates and 5 Years’ Worth of Patches for 2021 and 2022 Flagship Phones

Samsung committed to providing 4 years of software support for its devices which is comprised of 3 major OS updates and 4 years of security patches. The software support includes flagship devices as well as devices in the lower tier like the A and M series. The company now is adding 1 more major OS update for its flagship line of devices.

According to this new commitment, Samsung’s newly announced Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Tab S8 models will have 4 major OS updates during their lifetime along with 5 years of security patches. This means you’ll be able to enjoy up to Android 16 and patches up to 2027.

Additionally, for the 2021 flagship owners, the same software support will be available to you.
