The unreleased chipset and device were able to clock in scores of 720 and 1,919 in single and multi-core performance, respectively.

The Snapdragon 898 is reported to be 20% faster than the Snapdragon 888 and while the benchmark scores don’t reflect this, it could be because it was done at battery-saving mode or even have bad thermals. Another reason behind the ‘underperformance could be the 4nm Samsung node on which the chipset is expected to be built. The exact conditions aren’t exactly given on the listing.

The listing also reveals the cores of the chipset and their clock speed. It shows a prime Cortex X2 core clocked at 2.42GHz, three Cortex-A710 cores at 2.17GHz, and four Cortex-A510 cores at 1.79GGHz. According to reports, the prime Cortex X2 core on the 898 can be clocked up to 3.09GHz which could be another reason for the underperformance.

The listing also reveals that the new flagship Snapdragon chipset will have an Adreno 730 GPU.

More leaks are expected in the coming days and weeks to see which smartphone maker will be the first to feature the new Qualcomm flagship chipset.
