With rumors pointing to it, Huawei has now confirmed that its next flagship chipset will be the Kirin 990, which will most likely run on the upcoming Mate 30 series. They even posted a short video about the new chipset with a hint that it will be 5G-ready.

The Kirin 990 will be built on a 7nm EUV process, which means you get better power efficiency. Rumor has it it will also come with support for 4K 60fps video recording.

We can expect further details, as the new chipset makes its official debut at Huawei’s event in Berlin, happening on September 6.
