The ASUS ROG STRIX Scar II

ASUS Republic of Gamers has unveiled the successor of its Strix Hero and Scar gaming laptops, both sport new looks, Intel’s 8th-Gen core processors, and a plethora of features that make them ideal and distinct for what you play – The new Scar II for FPS gameplay, and the Hero II for MOBA.

That’s apart from the new lighting bar that’s also been added at the front, for added visual zing. The new design allows for narrower borders, 2.33 cm less than the previous generation. Both the Scar II and Hero II feature desktop-inspired keyboards. The Scar II in particular, is equipped with ASUS Aura Sync Technology for synchronized lighting effects across compatible devices.

Its Trapezoid-Cut lid improves thermal efficiency by up to 23%, while its 12V fans now has more blades for improved cooling performance. To keep the device in top shape, the unique heatpipe design distributes heat evenly to avoid any risk of thermal throttling.

That means you get smoother and more fluid visuals across a number of titles. The Hero II on the other hand, also has a 144Hz display but with a 7ms response time.

Both the Hero II and Scar II are powered by Intel’s 8th-generation Coffee Lake processors, along with up to 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz Dual-Channel SDRAM, up to a 512GB NVMe PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD, up to a 1TB FireCuda SSHD, and up to an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card for superior performance.

As a special offer for the back-to-school season, the ROG Strix Scar II and Hero II will come bundled with a FREE ROG G-Shock watch!
