ASUS did mention an upcoming “Max Pro” during our interview, and now, that device has was just launched in India as the Zenfone Max Pro M1, which dons a 5,000 mAh battery, and is powered by a Snapdragon 636 SoC.

Aside from these outstanding specs, the M1 also features an 18:9 display ratio with a FHD+ display which is very common for a smartphone nowadays.

You can see the similarities of the M1 to the ASUS Zenfone 5Q – the camera setup, physical buttons and even the display but needless to say, the Max Pro M1 has a matte black texture, unlike the 5Q which has a glossy, fingerprint-magnet glass.

For the internal hardware, the M1 almost outshines everyone from the same variant. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 which you can also see in the latest Zenfone 5. The M1 is also ditching the ZenUI and replacing it with a pure Android experience and that’s why you will eventually notice its speed and battery efficiency during usage.

As for the battery, according to our sources, the Max Pro M1 lasts for 25 hours of 1080p video playback with a full charge but we’ll definitely see.

The M1 will be available for three variants and I also indicated their respective prices:

  • 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage ($165)
  • 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage ($195)
  • 6GB RAM + 64GB Storage ($225)

We can’t wait for this one to land in our shores and like always, this will be definitely be a hit.
