With Ryzen 7 bringing a whole new level of competition to the desktop CPU market. With 8 Cores and 16 threads, it’s AMD’s high-end CPU which caters to gamers, content creators, and professional users.
Now, the company has released a chart which shows the performance of a Ryzen 1700X when pitted against the Intel Core i7 7700K in popular PC usage scenarios: 4K AAA-gaming, game streaming, content creation, and video encoding.
Highlights:
- Compared to the Ryzen 7 1700X, the Core i7-7700K was able to achieve 67% video encoding performance using Handbrake and 82% performance with Adobe Premiere CC.
- In simultaneous game streaming using OBS, the Ryzen 7 1700X only dropped less than 1% of frames, while the Core i7-7700K dropped 18% of frames.
- Compare to the Ryzen 7 1700X, the Core i7-7700K achieved 65% the performance in POVRay, 69% in Blender, and 63% the performance in Cinebench, which results to an average content creation performance of 66% relative to the Ryzen 7 1700X.
