DICT in Full Support of PH Delegation at CommunicAsia 2017

The DICT will lead the Philippine contingent for CommunicAsia 2017, the largest industry event for ICT in Asia to be held from May 23 to 25, in Singapore. The event brings together ICT players from around the globe to showcase their newest products and innovations.

The group includes 10 companies, composed of both startups and large corporations which operate in the field of Information Technology and Business Process Management, Telecommunications, Financial, and Transportation. There will also be a seminar called “Philippines Connect,” which will tackle the issues, changes, and opportunities in the Philippine ICT industry.

The Philippines Pavillion will showcase the best of what the country can offer. It includes startups like Taxumo and FAME Aviation App which will present their latest products for simplifying financial transactions and for safer travel.

On the other hand, Advanced World Systems, Alliance Software Inc., Exist Software Labs, Inc., PLDT Enterprise, Red Core Solutions, Sutherland Global Services, THINKBIT Solutions, and Xurpas Enterprise, Inc. will also be promoting their latest innovations and services.

Speakers and Moderators from the Philippines will also take part in the event, including PLDT Chief Technology and Information Advisor, Joachim Horm, and NSR Research Director, Jose Del Rosario. ABS-CBN Customer Relationship Management Division Head, Richmond Ezer Escobar will be present for BroadcastAsia, while Filipino director Pedring Lopez will also share his expertise and talk about the movie, Entity, at the post-production segment.

The DICT was created in June 2016, and signifies the government’s goal of bringing improvement to the ICT sector in the Philippines. In March 2017, the government agency received approval for the establishment of a National Broadband System which is aimed at accelerating investments in the country, as well as connecting and engaging both public and private sectors.

BroadcastAsia 2017 on the other hand, showcases an ecosystem of the latest end-to-end solutions, as Asian broadcasting companies start the transition to IP based systems, VR storytelling and OTT.

The AR and VR Market is expected to grow to $80 billion. As such, it is important to keep broadcasters and content creators in the region up-to-date with the latest technologies. BroadcastAsia 2017 will also feature its first ever Virtual Reality Zone.

There will be a TV Everywhere! Zone to showcase non-linear broadcasting solutions, a Cinematography/Film/Production Technology Zone which will showcase Professional Audio Technology, as well as talks from top broadcast experts and influencers in Asia.
