Cellprime Distribution Corporation, or Cellprime, today announced an official business partnership with global giants Gionee and Hyundai, in a bid to corner more of the local smart device market. In a press event held at the PBA Cafe in Metrowalk, Pasig City, Philippines, Cellprime President Eric Yu took to the stage to talk about the business partnership’s specifics.

As part of the partnership, Cellprime will now be the exclusive distributor of high-end Gionee smartphones here in the Philippines. That includes such phones as the Gionee S Plus, Gionee P8, and the Gionee P5w. You can expect to see Gionee’s high-end products being sold and marketed by Cellprime throughout the first quarter of 2016.

According to the official press release, the move to partner with Gionee, which is now a world-leading Chinese smartphone brand, was made in order to increase Cellprime’s “stable of power brands.”

“As heavy users of social networking sites, Filipinos are constantly looking for better experiences on their smartphone — not just in terms of performance and price — but also on design preferences that reflect their interests and personalities,” said Jaime Alcantara, COO of Cellprime.

“2016 will be a banner year for Cellprime because we have succeeded in making some of the world’s biggest lifestyle and technology brands part of our growing family, giving Filipinos the widest range of smartphone and tablet options to choose from,” adds Alcantara.

Cellprime also announced a new partnership with car manufacturer Hyundai. The world-famous Korean automotive titan apparently selected Cellprime to be its partner in the Philippines, enabling Cellprime to benefit from Hyundai’s expertise in design and innovation. As part of this partnership, the two companies will jointly develop mid-range and high-end smartphones for release possibly in the latter part of the year.

But there’s already one new Hyundai handset in the Philippines as a result of this new alliance: the Hyundai Aero is now available in the country for Php 13,999 each. It features a 4.8-inch HD IPS screen, a Snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, and a cool 5.1mm thin all-metal and back-to-back glass body.

Just like the Huawei Aero, the aforementioned Gionee phones are already out in the country as well. It’s just up to you to find them in the most accessible retail locations near you. To give you a clue: the Gionee P8 costs Php 23,999; the Gionee M5 costs Php 11,999; the Gionee S Plus costs Php 9,999; and the Gionee P5w costs Php 4,499.
