Great things come in small packages. This pretty much sums up my thoughts and impressions about Kitsound’s little wonder, the Kitsound Mini.

Kitsound Mini Earphones 13

Introduced about a month ago, this little beauty has been my go-to earphones especially when I’m playing mobile games and listening to some tracks via Spinnr and Spotify. I find it hard to believe how Kitsound and its official distributor, Xoti Corporation, managed to sell this at a very affordable standpoint despite the impressive qualities it exudes.

Kitsound Mini excels in many respects: Build and design, sound quality and of course, price. Let me break it down to you.

Build and Design

Kitsound Mini boasts a minimalist design fused with the intention of bringing convenience and pleasure to the user. It features a flat cable, which relieves the user from hassle of untangling knots. It also comes with additional earbuds in different sizes. The earbuds may also be steam-sterilized accordingly for hygiene purposes.

If you don’t have the budget for noise-cancelling cans or earphones, the in-ear buds of Kitsound Mini is enough to block external sounds. Unlike other in-ear earphones, extended use of the Kitsound Mini does not bring discomfort to the ears (specifically to the external auditory canal) because of its soft silicone buds.

Sound Quality

Kitsound Mini deserves a warm round of applause in terms of sound quality. With pun intended, the earphones give off a warm sound, which I find perfect for EDM, dubstep and party music. It isn’t a well-balanced earphones though as it tends to over-amplify the bass, leaving the trebles behind that’s why I enjoyed listening to Tove Lo’s “Habits” and to Kaskade’s “Turn it Down”. During my tests though, Steve Wonder’s voice in “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” (which is less bassy) are almost inaudible, while instruments are more pronounced and emphasized.

Other Functions

The earphones isn’t just for music as it comes with a built-in mic for voice calls and voice activation (Siri or Google Now). The mic also comes with a switch, which you may use to answer phone calls, pause/play/change track. Long pressing the switch triggers Siri on Apple, and Google Now (when set) on Android.

Verdict

Kitsound Mini is an excellent sound solution for budget-conscious audiophiles. It may not be an all-rounder as it’s over-amplifying the lows rather highs, but it’s still definitely worth it. The additional microphone and single-button control are bonuses that bring more value to your money. The Kitsound Mini is now available for only PhP399 via Lazada. BUY NOW by clicking this link.
