In light of the recent issues surrounding the Galaxy Note7, and to ensure the safety of its consumers, Samsung Philippines urges customers to power down their Note7 units (Regardless of whether it’s an original unit or a replacement unit) and immediately contact their place of purchase for an exchange to Galaxy S7/S7 Edge or a Full Refund.

Samsung’s Official Statement announcing the halt of sales and exchanges for the Note7:

We are working with relevant regulatory bodies to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note7. Because consumers’ safety remains our top priority, Samsung will ask all carrier and retail partners globally to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7 while the investigation is taking place.

We remain committed to working diligently with appropriate regulatory authorities to take all necessary steps to resolve the situation. Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note 7 or replacement Galaxy Note7 device should power down and stop using the device and participate in the local programs each market has prepared.

Samsung Philippines is also closely working with local telco partners and authorized dealers to urge customers to take the necessary steps:

  1. Contact your place of purchase for an exchange to a Galaxy S7 Edge or S7 (Store will reimburse the difference between the SRP), Or
  2. Request for a full refund.

For devices purchased from Globe or Smart, customers should contact the telco operators’ hotlines or go directly to the nearest telco operator store.
