Cherry Mobile Flare 4 1
You probably already know by now that Cherry Mobile just updated its Flare series of smartphones with three new models. Two of these are the Cherry Mobile Flare 4 and Cherry Mobile Flare S4. What are the major differences between the two?

Perhaps it would be a little bit easier to mention their similarities. They both have 5-inch HD IPS screens, dual-SIM capabilities, 4G data, Android 5.1 Lollipop, and Php 4,999 price tags. However, it’s important to note that these two phones are not identical, even though their specs are almost exactly alike.

Here’s the first thing you need to know about the Cherry Mobile Flare 4: it comes with an ergonomic premium back cover, one that’s intended to make a user feel as if it’s not an inexpensive budget phone. It also has a metallic coating on its sides which further adds to the premium feel. Basically, it’s made to look pretty much like a “grown-up” version of the original Cherry Mobile Flare, and that is undoubtedly a very a good thing.

And what about the Flare S4? This one also has a special back cover, but instead of just being smooth and ergonomic, it actually has a premium “Luxe” design. It reminds one of the back cover on the much more expensive Asus ZenFone Deluxe. It’s kind of crazy how you can get almost the exact same kind of back cover on a much less pricier phone.

The Luxe back cover of the Flare S4 might just be one of its major draws, but it’s not a bad phone when it comes to overall specs either. It shares many of the Flare 4’s internals, including a 1.3GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD card support, and all the wireless smartphone features you can think of (except NFC).

One final difference between the Flare 4 and Flare S4 that’s worth noting: the Flare 4 has a 2100mAh battery and the Flare S4 has a 2200mAh battery. A small difference, but we’ll see how much that affects the overall battery life of each phone.

Like the Flare 4, the Flare S4 will also cost Php 4,999. The question is, which one of these two will you think is worth buying? Watch out for our full reviews for our expert verdict!
