Just today at Beyond the Box, Century City Mall, Marshall launched 4 new products, which are clear testament to what Marshall is known for – producing quality headphones and speakers. These 4 new products – Mode EQ, Mode, Acton and Woburn – give out clear and precise sound without sacrificing comfort, provide conveniences in terms of connectivity, and exude a minimalist yet maintaining the vintage signature design of Marshall.

Mode and Mode EQ

Let us start off with Marshall Headphones Mode and Mode EQ. I must admit: I haven’t used a Marshall in-ear headphone. I use a Marshall Major Pitch Black for already over a year. I juggle it with some of my headphones; but I have been using my Major PB longer than my other cans.

When I saw Mode and Mode EQ earlier, its design and the functions that came with it just blew me away. I’d like to emphasize though that Mode EQ has better specs and functions compared to Mode because of its equalizer switch, which lets users choose between having a warmer, bass-heavy sound, and another one for having emphasis on mids and highs. Such feature is Mode EQ’s products unique selling position, and as a matter fact (as far as I know), it is the first in-ear headphones that has that kind of flexibility!

Just in case you’re interested to buy one, Mode retails for PhP3,150, while the other variant with EQ switch – Mode EQ – sells for PhP4,450.

Meanwhile, take a look at the different features of both headphones below for your reference:

Marshall Acton and Woburn Speakers

Acton and Woburn employ similar design philosophy of older Marshall speakers. Their designs do not deviate from its family, carrying a classical and durable vintage looking fret with lavishly great looking gold-plated details. Of course, its iconic Marshall script logo can be seen in front.

Acton

Acton is built with a smaller frame, but packed with 3.5mm and Bluetooth connectivity. It’s included with a double ended cable, which may be used to extend the music from your portable devices and instrument to the speakers.

Acton Specs:

  • CLASS D AMPLIFIERS: 2X8W+1X25W
  • 34″ DOME TWEETER: 2X
  • 4″ WOOFER: 1X
  • BASS AND TREBLE TONE CONTROLS
  • FREQUENCY RANGE: 50- 20.000Hz
  • CROSSOVER FREQUENCY: 4200Hz
  • WEIGHT: 3KG
  • SIZE: 265 X 160 X 150MM
  • COLORS: BLACK AND CREAM
  • PRICE: PhP15,950

Woburn

Meanwhile, Woburn, apart from exuding high yet clean trebles and relatively fair emphasis on bass, features connectivity options ragding from PCM optical input, 3.5mm input, RCA to Bluetooth. As someone who is starting out to become an audiophile, having a Woburn in my living room is going to be amazing! Wait, did I just write ‘PCM Optical Input’? Well, that means I can easily jack in my PS4 optical input in here. TAKE MY MONEY!

But perhaps, the non-highlighted features got my utmost attention more – Woburn has 2 standby modes – powersaver and standard, which minimizes speaker’s environmental impact when not actively in use. That’s smart!
