The O+ Grande is as big as you can ever imagine. If this is your first time to see such a humongous device, this will be perfect for you for viewing your favorite movies or even your most loved TV series. Like what we said last month, the O+ Grande is your entry-level movie viewing phone because of different factors. If you want to see the unboxing pictures and preview, here is the link. After a month of use, here’s our full complete report. Take a look.

Display

7

The O+ Grande sports the biggest screen of the O+ smartphone series. This ‘phablet’ has 6 inches of viewing madness which is definitely perfect for your entertainment like movies, games or social media. Although the display isn’t IPS, the quality is just right for watching your HD movies. Even if the bezels are quite thick, the angles of the screen are top-notch. For additional information, the resolution is 1280×720 with GPU of Mali-400 MP.

Design

4

The design of the O+ Grande doesn’t leave the standards of a typical ‘phablet’. It features the ever reliable capacitive buttons at the bottom of the device but unfortunately the lights are not properly placed at the center. See picture below.

9

Physical buttons like the sleep/wake button and volume rockers are located at the right and left side of the device, respectively. The handling of these buttons are a little different. The sleep/wake button has the right type of feel of depth with its physical render while the volume rockers are a bit low which are really difficult to press or hold. A 2-megapixel selfie camera is typically beside the earpiece and at the back, you will see the wildly protruded 5 megapixel camera with flash and speaker grills.

The O+ Grande is also available in two colors: Black and Dark Blue.

Performance

The O+ Grande belongs to the Quad-core family with 1.2 GHz of Mediatek processor (MT6582) coupled with 1GB of RAM and according to the box, it has 4GB of internal memory but inside, it tells us that it only has 2GB only but expandable up to 32GB. With these outstanding features, scrolling and navigating are truly a breeze.  It is also customized with Android 4.4 KitKat which enables the user into so many possibilities like the Visitor Mode, in which the user can switch into different accounts – a perfect feature for kids so that you can limit the usage and the availability of the apps. Also, O+ substantial features like the Air Shuffle and Air Share are also available with the Grande.

Battery wise, the O+ Grande has 2700 mAh of juice. With my experience, the battery lasts for almost 2 days with maximum usage. The performance is quite good but the back casing overheats very easily.

According to our reliable benchmark apps, the O+ Grande scores 8,592 points with the Quadrant Standard Edition while for the AnTuTu Benchmark, Grande garnered 17,349 points.

Camera

3

The camera of the O+ Grande is really not much of a treat. Its 5-megapixel camera produced photos with slightly inaccurate color reproduction. However, pictures captured with both the cameras (both front and back) are within the range of my expectations. Here are the sample shots.

Verdict

8

O+ Grande is one of the best things that happened for the O+. With it’s 6 inches of viewing perfection, it is truly a delight for movies, TV series and gaming fanatics. Sporting a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with a bunch of freebies like memory card and earphones, this is one heck of a deal. In additional to this, a 5MP camera and a 2MP selfie camera are definitely a plus factors if you’re gonna ask me. It is now available nationwide at a price of Php5,999 and it’s honestly quite a steal.
