It has been 6 years since the first of Samsung Galaxy series was launched. Galaxy devices can also be called the breadwinner in terms of Samsung’s smartphones and tablets. It is truly getting bigger and better (literally).

Last March 24, 2014, Samsung announced a new line-up of Galaxy devices, the Galaxy Tab Pro Series. Packed with amazing hardware and ergonomic designs, the Tab Pro Series promised to be one of the best and cheapest tablets worldwide. Well, we will see about that.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 has an 8.4-inch screen with a WQXGA display with high density pixel of 2560 x 1600 resolution with 359 ppi. Just like the new Note series, the rear part also has leather quality and holding it is incredibly pleasant. Button placements follows its design to be used vertically.

The on/off/sleep button is located at the right side together with the volume rockers. You will see the microSD card slot at the left side. The home button and soft keys are located at the bottom of the device along with the microUSB port and 2 great stereo speakers.

An 8 megapixel camera with LED flash is wisely placed at the upper left of the rear portion. The camera can capture 1080p videos and great quality photos, it is definitely perfect for the shutter bugs out there. A 2MP camera is also located at the front which is perfect for doing selfies and whatnot.

It’s SUPER FAST!

I only got two words for the device’s performance. FAST and POWERFUL. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 with Quad Core clocked in 2.3 Ghz, the Tab Pro 8.4 is indeed one the most powerful devices I have ever seen and handled. Antutu score is 34,596, Quadrant Standard scores it with 23,227 points, making it slightly higher than Samsung Galaxy Note 3. It is also pre-installed with Android’s newest version of OS, Kitkat 4.4.2. Screenshots are as follows:

Its 8MP rear camera is great. It’s quite unbelievable to see a tablet that can take good photos. While I’m not a fan of taking photos using a tablet (because it just makes me look like a dork), I just had to take some sample photos to prove the point that this tablet’s camera doesn’t suck.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 definitely got my eye popped out. High definition display and ultra fast performance, the qualities that I’ve been looking for in a tablet. It even has haptic feedback which is rarely seen in a tablet. For me, the Tab Pro 8.4 is a must have for people who are looking for a medium priced high quality device. Awesomesauce Samsung!
