It seems like all local phone companies have laid down their aces. Cherry Mobile, MyPhone and Starmobile have all revealed their flagship devices for the 2nd half of the year. The 3 companies thrilled us for weeks prior to the official announcement of these devices, which I find quite entertaining. But the ultimate question remains – which product do you think will sell well?

Here’s the full specs guide of Cherry Mobile Razor, MyPhone Iceberg and Starmobile Knight for your reference. I know that most of you are now scouting for your next smartphone. Over 5 million smartphones were purchased last year by Filipinos. I, for one, am very excited to know how the stats will turn out this year!

Based on the technical specifications of these phones, it looks like MyPhone’s Iceberg (BLU Life View) is at the advantage. Its exclusive features are definitely game-changing in the local mobile phone market scene.

MyPhone Iceberg

The Clever Motion feature, which is similar to O+ Air Shuffle and Samsung Smart Gesture, may not be too original but MyPhone has announced gestures that are not available in other devices out of the box.

Wireless Display, on the other hand, is like Samsung’s Air View or Apple’s AirPlay. This feature, however, requires an accessory (much like Apple’s Apple TV, although less pricey) that can establish connection between the phone and the media device.

According to the device teased by MyPhone, it seems like this is the first MyPhone device that does not have the iconic Philippine flag at the back cover. Also, its monicker ‘Iceberg” breaks away from the usual naming convention of MyPhone.

Pre-installed in this device is TARA (Theft Apprehension and Asset Recovery Application), the number one Anti-Theft Technology for mobile devices. Never consider this as a bloatware as this can definitely provide significant security to your device. Distributed exclusively for MyPhone, the application allows your phone to be remotely disabled when triggered from a web application.

There are lots of notable features that MyPhone Iceberg can offer! But great features come with high price: priced at PhP11,988, this isn’t your typical MyPhone purchase. Thankfully, during the launch, MyPhone will let us buy this device and pay only PhP499.50 per month for 24 months via credit card.

ash payments are also accepted + other exciting giveaways await those who tweet ‪#‎myphoneiceberg‬ on the event day.

How about Razor and Knight?

Razor is still a big contender here. It doesn’t technically sit on par with Iceberg and Knight, but it’s selling price is something to die for. Its price tag of PhP6,499 is just perfect for its specifications; and as a matter of fact, perfect for pragmatic buyers like me (function and price first, before specifications).

Because of the overwhelming specs and price of Iceberg, I now consider Knight as a niche device. It’s biggest selling points now are its cameras – 18mp back and 8mp front. Priced a little lower than Iceberg, only those who are into capturing better and bigger photos might consider Knight over Razor.

Now, I’m very excited to know your thoughts on this. What are going to buy? Hit the comments below guys! I will respond to your questions if I can.
